About LMEFCU
The approval of Federal Credit Union Charter Number 14623 on August 8th, 1961 allowed for Lynchburg Municipal Employees Federal Credit Union (LMEFCU) to help promote financial services and security for its membership. We were originally chartered to serve employees of the City of Lynchburg and their immediate families. On July 7, 1980 the Lynchburg Education Association Credit Union merged with Lynchburg Municipal Employees Federal Credit Union. When both credit unions were originated their main service was promoting savings through share accounts and small loans. We are now a multiple common bond credit union, that still believes the way to acquire new members is through one organization at a time. Our credit union has served its members for 58 years with this same philosophy. We offer a wide variety of services to our members to meet their financial needs. Over the past 20+ years we have been giving back to our membership with a loan interest refund to say "thank you" for your support. We will continue to strive to meet the needs of our members.
